Back where we began

Landed in Charlotte about 7 pm Thursday night. We were greeted with the lovely summer-in-the-South heat and humidity. We dropped off mom about 11 pm last night, and got back to our home a little after midnight.
But we made it home! To our overgrown yard and two lonely cats! When we get through with yard work and laundry, one last entry to sum up everything. Meantime, my cat Bailey won't leave my side.

  1. So...you've been around the world, and now it's back to the reality of mowing the lawn and doing the laundry; welcome back home. My mom's been in Korea, now, for, oh, about 40 hours...It was as surreal to 'welcome her' to Korea as it was to be welcomed by you guys to Korea; we ate at the same airport joint...We're in central Seoul now and my blog is being updated--I don't know if I'll be able to keep an almost daily record as you guys did, but I'm already up to several hundred photos (with camera and iPhone) after being here since just last Wednesday evening! You used an interesting expression in one of your first entries, about 'what to pack in your minds'...That's sticking with me as I'm here--what to 'pack' to take back with me...fortunately the mind is 'expandable,' even when it feels 'fried' after TOO MANY NEW WORDS every day! It's fun to be with my mother as she re-discovers her old stomping grounds after so many years, and as she reacts with wonder at how much it's changed...but the old landmarks are still here...Looking forward to your 'last entry to sum it all up!'
